I have been using Daiwa sensor clear in 12lb for the last couple of years now and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a new one to use as I usually respool around this time of year
Any suggestions would be good
Thanks

I've heard mixed reports about X Line. It's a good sinking line but doesn't cast all that well? What breaking strain do you recommend? Also what about Snyde? Is that any good??

Lee, why 20lbs? I use Pro Clear in 14 or 15lbs (can't remember!). Just interested mate.

Xline is not ideal for casting, but how far do you fish. I can cast 20lb xline with 3 oz lead and 2 3/4 NGs 90 yards without worry. I used snyde and liked it, changed back to xline and realised it is far superior. For hugging the bottom it is amazing

Lee, why 20lbs? I use Pro Clear in 14 or 15lbs (can't remember!). Just interested mate. it sinks like a brinck perfect for slack lines and not as much strech in the lower strains, amazing to cast and low diameter for 20lb mono,

i have been a massive fan of technium in 15lb,(NOT the gay camo stuff) and have used it since 1999 where i first used it in france, and ive dragged 40+ fish from snags, that i belive no other line would have coped with.
But this yr (uk only) i have been trying the P-Line...im very very impressed with the 12lb, it cast like no other line ive used, its seems to be tough and it sinks well. so i might be using it a tad more. It takes alot for me to change my line, a bit like my hooks, but i may have found a line that surpasses technium.

I use Pro Clear in any variation. At the moment I have 16lb Pro clear on as my mainline (heavvy weed + gravel)
But, used the 12lb version for 4 / 5 seasons with no worries at all. It is strong enough to take a beating and casts very well.
For my surface fishing it was 10lb Pro Clear all the way and would trust this untold on my bottom rods as well!!!

I use either Pro clear or diawa infinity HT both in 12lb for my long range casting as long as I am not fishing over gravel bars or in weed. For close in or medfium range work I have been using the Flouro cabon P-line. But for value for money and alround tough line you just cant beat Sensor in either clear or dark. I have played with X-line on a few occasions and alough it definatly does sink I have alway found it to be wirey and difficult to cast. But hey each to ther own. Tight Lines
