well, i'm getting bored now, there doesnt seem to be a lake free of ice to be able to fish....its the longest ive gone without getting out now and with the cold snap due to stay with us for at least 2 weeks, i'm going to be climbing the walls.
Still on the bright side of things, the weather experts reckon we are going to have a dry hot spring and summer....belive that when it happens

Every cloud has a silver lining. From a purely point of view I love it when the lakes & ponds freeze over because the ducks and geese tend to move out onto the saltings & ensures there are a reasonable number of birds about at flight time. That way I get good fishing for 75% of the year & some good wildfowling for the remaining 25%. However if it freezes to much even the fowling comes to an end. In my book thats whats known as a win win situation. With respect ddapscarper, could you not diversify & find something else to do. For example. why not pop along to JJs (between DVH & Bluewater) & try a bit of clay shooting.. It's only just up the road from you & easy to get to. Or perhaps spend a few hours tying up a load of new rigs. Who knows you could even sell them on e-bay & use the money to buy some more of Garys Organic Chicken boilies Theres got to be something else anglers can do when the waters frozen, How about a social gatherings to enable folk to have a chat over a pie and a pint. I wonder how often we walk past each other on the bank without knowing whos who. It may be good to meet up occasionally & put some names & faces together. Also to take our minds off of the frozen lakes. What ever the weather gods throw at us, don't let it get you down because spring really isn't that far away & we can all get back out on the bank. Anyway does anybody know a reasonable pub in the area ;D ;D ;D

Looks very nice mate. Whats in it? The lake was dug out in 1938, originally for the gardens of the estate manor, the landscape (25 acre) was designed and built by capability Brown. It was stocked with fish as a food source for humans, mainly pike, but as the yrs passed, other fish were introduced. in 1967 50 carp were introduced along with tench, roach, bream etc. it was restocked with 100 carp (1lb to 4lb) aprrox 15 yrs ago. some lost due to commorants, natural deaths etc. There are NO simos etc and no noddies. Today it holds approx 35 carp which are stunning wood carvings, they dont grow that big, (30lb) but who cares when they look like they do. the tench, bream have been removed. It holds a special in my heart, as this was where i first wet a line many moons ago. Its very out the way and no fecker fishes it....i like it that way. I'll do a blog on it when i start fishing it again.
