ive been lucky enough to have got hold of one of Osprey's new throwing stick..(although i told Sparky i couldnt get one...lol)
very impressed, work far better than any of the others i have. they are due to be released early this yr, probably end of feb
The tech basics are:
Aircraft grade alloy construction, won't warp in sunshine and can withstand being trod on.
The amount of metal taken out by the holes and slots obviously take weight out, without reducing robustness. The stick is no heavier than a plastic one.
In addition the holes down the main tube allow no vacuum to build up behind the boilie during swing and the holes in front of the boilie allow any resisting positive pressure in front of the boilie during swing to be released, both these attributes allow the boilie to go along the tube at a greater velocity than without any holes.
The slots at the output end allow the boilie to be centralized (more accuracy) and help to induce spin, due to two "edges" contacting the boilie.
The slot at the bottom is a great feature allowing loading of as many baits as you wish without lowering your arm during baiting up this allows much faster baiting up and lets you keep your eye in as the action is a lot more fluid without lowering your hand.
The slots at the end also make the stick easier to operate by allowing the stick to move through the air easier due to not cupping the air within the tube but allowing it to flow straight through making the action appreciably less effort than conventional.Lanyard fitted to ensure no lost stick.Rubberized grip to allow good grip, even when cold.
The finish is powder coating very robust.

Loadin at the bottom is so easy....
