Berners Hall is a 24 acre carp syndicate in Fyfield Essex stocked with over 450 carp to 35lb.
A number of changes have been made over the winter with over two tonnes of crayfish being removed and the weights of the carp have now rocketed with there now being two carp over 34lb present. Many of the low twenties are now 25lb+ and berners is now in our opinion back on track. The trapping will continue as the more we get out the better for the fish weights. There will also be some further stockings this spring so keep an eye on this site for more information.
The syndicate was formed over 4 years ago and we have a a good base of members that join year in year out. So far we have had a friendly syndicate and most of the members are a sociable bunch that will give new syndicate members a few pointers. We do get spaces available as people move on to other waters. Berners is big (24acres+) so there is plenty of room when fishing. In fact there are only 20 swims so you get around an 1 acre of water each. We allow 4 rods each angler because of the space and so far there have been no problems with this. We also allow cheating, evil thingss so long as they are used sensibly more about that in our fishery rules. Berners is the same as any carp syndicate in so much as you have to find the fish but once found they are relatively easy to catch. They do move very quickly at times so the mobile approach can pay dividends.
You won't go far wrong using any decent boilies and pellets and particles work very well. As you can see from some of the pictures you can get all four seasons in one day at Berners however the fish respond well all season.
There is a toilet on site and we are in talks to get a standpipe in for fresh water.
