I have fished it,it has got loads of big fish and the better of the swims on the lake is the pipe swim(bit of a pig to set up the wendy house).I have only fished it the once and did not have much knowlege of the water to my shame. The day i fished it in the pipe the weed was very tricky to deal with and i made a bit of a hash of it.I have been since told that most baits work well(fake corn was a top tip).

I have fished at Monks several times and have found it quite good. It changed hands recently and the new owners are very strange. They gladly sold me my day ticket before telling me I would be hard pushed to find a vacant swim as they were full!! A quite big arguement insued before they agreed to give me a refund. Needless to say I have not been back since.

Do people really pay them sort of prices one weekend trip with 2 rods equals the same cost of one of my club tickets for a year… tough decision that one

but in Monks defence i do know of a few anglers who have been there and had as many as 8 20s in a day and that takes some doing on any water but its not my cup of tea
