Got my 3 year old grandson enrolled as a pre junior so that he can wander round with me, or come down with my wife or daughter. My missus brought him down whilst I was fishing a couple of days ago & he sat there for about 15 minutes with a stick pretending to fish. It's the first time he's been down there but absolutely loved it. It was so nice to see the fishing bug seed starting to germinate. According to young James he caught 3 fish but I didn't dare tell him otherwise. I will now put a float rod in my holdall so he can catch a couple of roach the next time the wife or daughter pop down to see me or deliver my chicken kashmir, pilau rice & onion bhaji. ;D

Hi Robin, I have just spoken to Rebekah & she has put the date in her diary, so we will hopefully all be there for the day.
By the way that Alan Curnick is bloomin efficient. (as usual) It took just 3 days to get the grandsons membership sorted. Posted on the Monday returned on the Wednesday. I was so impressed I phoned to say thanks, because a quick efficient service like that is unfortunately so unusual nowadays. regards john

Robin I will be bringing young James down to the kids day tomorrow. Dad was coming down with us but hes been laid up with a busted ankle so cant walk about very well. He is still having to hobble around on crutches ;D ;D ;D so wont be able to get along.
one question please. When I joined DDAPS I wasn't sent a car parking window sticker. Dad has just brought me a little run around & I will therefore need a window sticker, are these available from the office. thanks Rebekah

To Robin (and everybody involved in the DDAPS kids training day)
Unfortunately I couldn't get along this morning but my daughter Rebekah & grandson James got along for a while. To say James enjoyed himself would be an understatement. He caught a nice rudd & came away with his own telescopic whip, which I understand was donated by the tackle box. So can I take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everybody involved ie club members, sponsors etc. What you did today will hopefully have a huge impact on not just the future of angling around the valley but also on the lives of numerous local youngsters.
Thank you John

Thanks for your comments, We had nearly 250 kids come through the gates at Kirby and everyone went away with enough kit to have a dabble after having a lesson with an N.F.A coach and a day ticket for Brooklands. Some won more tackle in the free raffle and others got prizes for fishing in the match. Even I caught a couple of double commons to show the kids that a muppett can achieve if you try hard enough ;D ;D ;D
