Boy suffers burns while fishing
A teenage boy is in hospital after suffering electrical burns while fishing in Stoke-on-Trent.
Paramedics said the boy, believed to be aged 13, caught his fishing line on overhead power cables at a former colliery site near Brindley Ford.
He was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital with serious burns to his body, legs and hands.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the Chatterley Whitfield site at 0835 BST on Tuesday.
A service spokeswoman said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found a teenager who had suffered electrical burns.
"It is believed that the teenager had been fishing at the time and had caught his line on overhead power cables whilst casting off."
