What can I say other than thankyou to everybody who helped make today so enjoyable. Sponsors, organisers helpers on the day etc etc. The wife & I have just got back from Kirby having taken my grandson down there for a bit of fun. He spent 20 mins fishing the silt pond & caught a few roach & then came away with a whip of his own courtesey of some kind sponsor. When we were driving him home he was chuffed to bits. He was absolutely over the moon with both his fish & the whole experience, ie fishing, chatting to the police & more. So much so that I am taking him out next weekend to catch a few bits with his new rod. So if you bump into a miserable old g*t, a four year old & his mum fishing the new banjo or the silt pond next weekend please be patient. Anyway thanks again to everybody involved; you made one four year old & his grandparents extremely happy. I hope it continues next year because I am convinced events such as this can have a life changing influence upon our young people & really deserve our support. Robin if your having another kids event in 2011 please let me know & I will be only to pleased to send £20 to the office to buy the maggots or whatever you want to put it to. Thanks again John (on behalf of myself & little James)

Thanks for that John, sorry we missed each other again, It was another good day for us too, I cant get over how many parents thanked us for an enjoyable day. Another 250+ kids had good day with loads of goodies. Off subject for a while but 2 of us had 4lb+ eels from Kirby Saturday night whilst trying to catch carp to show the kids, we also had Tench from the West lake John

Just got back from an hour or so at Brooklands with the grandson. I got him half a pint of maggots in what he called strawberry & vanilla flavours (red & white) Using the whip he got at last weeks fun day he caught 26 roach & 1 perch. None were anything to write home about but he doesn't know that. He was absaloutely made up with his fishing & wants to go again to catch a monster. ;D All thanks to DDAPS

Hi Robin, the wife & I are going to the Cotswolds for a couple of weeks next weekend so fishing the banjo is out obviously out of the question. Daughters 1 & 3 are staying here at home in sunny Swanley but Rebekah & James are coming with us. When we get back I will certainly give the banjo a try. Thanks very much for the advice though. John
