Hello all,
looking to do a 48 this weekend and wondered if anyone could tell me if the lakes are frozen? - will save me a long journey down to find I cant fish...

I'm sure one of the other guys will report for sure but I'd be very surprised if it was fliud. Beware as well that the forecast for the weekend is well and truly below freezing.

I'm surprised Robin I must say. I'm near Epsom and everything you drive past around here is solid and it was -3 at 7 am this morning. Wrap up well lads! ;D

sutton froze the week before last only leisure sport bay was free we had 6 bites in a night then in the morning the small lake defrosted a tiny bit and i had 1 from the Top gravel ;D

A bit of cat ice on Kirby in the margins but the wind is keeping it clear today

Jeffe...... yes there was someone to dig me out We had to get the boat out to get our lines in on saturday... luckily they were working down at Kirby so they kindly helped me out - took a while but got all the rigs back in ;D one bloke at the other end had a take and played the fish under the ice... He managed to land it. Temp is now rising so hopfully fluid by next weekend.....

....I certainly did! – thought it would be a good idea to weigh the spomb with stones and cast where the line was entering the ice..... Big mistake! – the ice was so thick the spomb just bounced off!! ...........It was at that point I thought it was best to get the boat out. Big thanks to the boys down there – very helpful !
