Is it just me or do these just look Pony? I know the mags are heavily featuring them but they just seem cheapo rod to me? The £99.99 wychwood maximizers on the other hand look superb. Anybody actually used the Sonik ones?

If you're not reading the mags Joss you won't have seen them. Loads of marketing money being thrown at them at the moment.
Not being snobby but I'd need a lot of convincing to move away from Century / Daiwa / Free Spirit or whatever to go to Sonik.
Rubbish name for the product too.

Hi folks Spencer made a comment in his first post on this thread about the wychwood maximisers looking superb. Has anybody actually tried them as I am looking to buy my daughter a couple of reasonable rods for the occasional days at Kirby. She likes to use a PVA bag of boilies both whole & chopped & reasonable sized leads of 3 to 4oz so I was considering something about 3lb plus test curve & according to the latest advertising blurb these rods in the larger test curves sound perfect for her needs. however I tend to be a bit cynical when it comes to advertising & prefer to take advice from people with practical experience of the items in question many thanks John

My friend just got the sk4's and I may do the same as well. I hear the guys from this company worked for greys prior but thats just what I have read online. Out of all the things I have read online which there are actually a lot I have only heard good things about them for the price range. Some of the other brands mentioned aren't those like 3 times the cost? I am sure the quality is better but thats a big price difference between them.
